Well last night's meal turned out really good despite a few burnt vegetables...
The meat: chicken glazed with Stonewall Kitchen's Maple chipotle grill sauce
The vegetables: summer squash, zucchini, and sliced Roma tomatoes lightly grilled in a pan with extra virgin olive, a dab of molasses and Italian seasoning
The starch: Red potatoes cut to homefry size and cook in a frying pan with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, Frank's Redhot, oregano and season salt.
The meal was going really well, I had everything timed to finish at the same time and then it happened....I was distracted with skype and next thing I know the sugar in the molasses carmelized and I burnt some of the zucchini and sumersquash. Sorry for the delayed post I had a meeting after dinner.

The first meal
Its funny when I hear most of my friends tell me that they cannot cook. What does it mean to say that you can cook? Does it mean that you can follow a recipe without burning it? Does it mean that you can create a perfect gourmet meal from scratch? Well to me being able to cook means that you can feed yourself and others and leave a smile on their face after the first bite. Welcome to my cooking world; I'm a 21 year old guy living on his own with an appetite like none other and the desire to create tasty food. I am a full time college student, I work full time for a real estate development company, and I am always active and on the run so cooking for me needs to be relatively quick and filling. I run regularly, go to the gym, hike, bike, kayak, rock climb and do pretty much everything outdoors so getting enough calories is a big part of my life.
As I turn on some Frank Sinatra and begin to unpack my $53.27 worth of groceries I am planning my first meal...
